The Dobbs decision to overturn Roe vs Wade forever changed the abortion landscape. BKForge is inviting our community to help us raise money for the New York Abortion Access Fund because we believe everyone deserves access to abortion, no matter their ability to pay.

The New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) assists people both in state and traveling from out of state pay for their abortions. The cost of an abortion can range from a couple hundred dollars to over three thousand dollars, and that’s before travel, lodging, childcare, and lost wages are added into the equation. Your contribution will go a long way in helping someone access care.

This program would create a sustainable funding mechanism managed by the NYS Department of Health that provides capacity building to abortion providers, funds uncompensated care, and addresses practical needs of patients. This funding would help abortion providers and nonprofit organizations to grow their capacity and meet present and future care needs, including providing abortion care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay or their insurance status.
